Roots pump

Features/Functions:

1. The advantages of the Roots pump include a relatively simple structure, long service life, and good operational balance. Its boost pressure varies in a relatively ideal manner with rotor speed, enabling it to meet the requirements of engine operation under variable working conditions. However, its disadvantages are relatively large weight and high noise levels. The boost pressure of a Roots compressor is generally below 𝑃𝑘=0.15∼0.17 Mpa.

2. The volute collects the air from the diffuser and guides it to the compressor outlet. Within the volute, the airflow continues to decelerate and its pressure is increasing, thereby the conversion of kinetic energy to pressure energy is achieved.
